Michelin Trials Tyres

In trials there is really only 2 viable choices for competitive tyres, Michelin Trials tyres and Dunlop. Michelin produce the X11 and X lite trials tyres and they are a very good competitive compound used by 90% of the top riders. The X-lite tyre offers a weight saving on the X11 and also a softer compound. However the softer compound is easy to puncture and tends to wear faster so you need to weigh up the pros and cons before buying. We would recommend the X-lite for the front and the X11 for the rear for the majority of trials riding. For long rough rides such as the Scottish 6 days trial and the Scott Trial we would recommend using a Dunlop as these seem to have a stronger bead and tend not to break off the rim as easy!
